Experience Rachel is a senior commercial and marketing strategist with a 16-year career plus in the global and local sports, media and charity sectors. Based in both APAC and EMEA during her career, she has held varied roles in sponsorship, PR, marketing, advertising, licensing, digital/social and events, with an emphasis on strategy and creative development. Previous clients include Allianz, Shell, Ford, NTT DoCoMo and Red Cross. Previous sports include seven seasons in Formula 1, plus football, athletics, rugby, golf, cricket and since London 2012, Paralympic sport. Since joining PNZ, Rachel has attracted and continues to develop partnerships with high profile brands, including Toyota, ACC, Harvey Norman and Cadbury.
As Commercial and Marketing Director, Rachel leads the strategic and creative development of the award-winning, Spirit of Gold® Initiative and oversees the team members leading the fundraising, commercial partnerships and communications activity. A long-term commercial and marketing programme, Spirit of Gold® was set-up to trigger meaningful societal dialogue around diversity and inclusion and generate income to run PNZ sport and community programmes via fundraising, grants and support from New Zealand business. It particularly supports the ‘High Profile Brand’, ‘Financial Sustainability’ and ‘Leadership of Para Sport’ pillars of the PNZ Strategic Plan – Towards 2020.
