Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) selects and supports Para athletes and teams to attend international competitions. The pinnacle of these international competitions are the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games.

In addition, PNZ leads High Performance Training programmes and campaigns in the sports of Para cycling and Shooting Para sport.

The information on this page applies mostly to Para athletes involved in Para sport High Performance programmes.

Can I compete in the Paralympic Games?

The ultimate goal for Para athletes is to represent their country at a Paralympic Games. A Para athlete is an athlete that has a disability or impairment that makes them eligible to compete in Para sport. The Getting Started section of this site will guide you through what it takes for you to become a Paralympian.
