RECORDS
Paralympics New Zealand currently holds records in the following sports:

Athletics - Track, Field & Road Swimming - Long Course
Athletics - Field Implement Weights Swimming - Short Course

Records for Archery, Cycling, Powerlifting and Shooting are currently being reviewed. These records will be published in the near future.


APPLYING FOR RECORDS

Eligibility
To be eligible for a Paralympics New Zealand record, athletes must:
- Have a New Zealand Citizenship and be registered with PNZ.
- Have a current national or international level classification for that sport.

Application Process
Record applications can be lodged where a performance in an event is equal to or superior to an existing record for that athletes classification.

PNZ will be responsible for cross checking and ratifying performances for new records at the following competitions:

- Paralympic Games
- World Championships
- Commonwealth Games
- Paralympic World Cup
- Oceania Paralympic Championships
- World Junior Games
- Australian Paralympic Youth Games
- New Zealand National Championships

Outside of these competitions, it is the responsibility of the athlete to ensure record applications are put forward to PNZ. Applications must be applied for on an official PNZ record application form. The form must be signed by the head official and head referee or alternatively accompanied by proof of the performance from the competitions official results.

Record applications must be received by PNZ within 30 days of the record being achieved. Specific requirements relevant to each sport (ie: electronic timing, wind readings) is listed on the record application forms.
