Do you love the Paralympic Games and New Zealand Paralympians as much as we do?

We would love it if you could join us this year as we again celebrate 1 year to go to the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. The postponement of the Paralympic Games and the limited fundraising we have been able to do due to COVID-19 means that we have a shortfall in funding. We are asking for your continued support to get the New Zealand Paralympic Team to Tokyo 2020.

It’s simple – wear gold on Friday 21 August

And ask your school community, friends, family and work colleagues to make a gold coin donation to support the New Zealand Paralympic Team and help us identify future Paralympians through our community Para sport development programmes.

We have developed an extensive toolkit including a range of resources and activities to use in the lead up to and during the Mufti Day. The toolkit will assist to introduce your students, work colleagues and the public to Para sport, Para athletes and positively influence perceptions of disabled people. It also includes some great fundraising ideas and fun activities.

Register your organisation today – email

Unable to celebrate on Friday 21 August?

No problem, you can hold a Spirit of Gold Mufti Day at any time! Just register your interest with us and use the toolkit to find some great ideas.
