Fiona is a well-respected leader with a 16-year plus career in Central and Local Government and Sport. She has held a variety of roles with an emphasis on strategic leadership. Since October 2007, she has worked to steadily develop the Paralympic Movement in New Zealand and is a passionate advocate for Para sport, from a grassroots level, up the pathway to the Paralympic Games. She works on the international stage to represent New Zealand at the highest level.
Fiona was named an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) in recognition for services to Paralympic sport in 2018.
As Chief Executive, Fiona leads the implementation of the Strategic Plan 2021 – 2032. She oversees senior leadership team members delivering the High Performance Programme, Paralympic Games Planning, Sports Management and Relationships, Commercial and Marketing Programme and Financial Strategy and she leads Organisational Planning with the PNZ Board. She supports across the organisation as it adapts to the fast-growing nature of Para sport, with a focus on attracting and retaining talent and attaining funding needed to meet the PNZ Vision – Excellence & Equity through Sport. She is passionate about partnering with organisations and individuals that share the PNZ values.
