Role
This role will lead PNZ’s Community Para Sport Plan, which includes the “Collectively Stronger Together” project involving mapping of the Para sport landscape to provide key foundational information around Para sport programmes and opportunities being delivered throughout the country; regional piloting to strengthen integrated community Para sport delivery model; building strategic partnerships and areas of alignment between PNZ and regional Parafed organisations.
Experience
Marianne has extensive sporting experience across various capacities and countries, from volunteering at grassroots, competing, coaching, managing and mentoring elite level athletes, to her previous role in a sport administration and leadership capacity. She led the implementation of Waikato Badminton’s renewed strategic plan and its day-to-day operations as Chief Executive. Prior to this, Marianne led the development of Australia’s Para badminton programme. Furthermore, she increased national participation and membership levels for Badminton Australia by over 30% within a 3-year period.

Marianne graduated from University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts Informatics in 2004.
Interests
Marianne is a sports fanatic, keen mountaineer, and a foodie who loves to challenge her limits.
