Role
Michelle will lead the development of online coaching resources, an element of the ‘Building the Para Sport Family’ project as part of our Strengthen and Adapt Plan. These resources will address the stakeholder-reported lack of capability and confidence of coaches in supporting Para athletes. This will involve development of stand-alone resources targeting Para sport coaches, as well as a resource that integrates Para sport and disability knowledge within non-disabled coaching courses. The coaching resources will be promoted to and utilised by coaches engaged from the community to the high performance level. In the first instance, the resources will be available via Sport NZ’s Sport Tutor learning portal. During the development phase, PNZ will work with key stakeholders to co-design the resources and courses in a way that allows them to be incorporated/integrated within existing NSO coach development programmes.
Experience
Michelle splits her time between PNZ and her role as Diversity and Inclusion Manager for Badminton New Zealand.
