Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) is a charity and relies on a mix of public donations, fundraisers, gifts and bequests, commercial partners plus government and community grants, which together make our Para sport, community and advocacy programmes possible. PNZ was known as the New Zealand Paraplegic & Physically Disabled Federation from 1968 to 2007. Click read more about Our History.
Any contribution that you make in supporting us is very gratefully received!
Some of the ways these contributions will be used include:
Covering operational costs to help our Paralympians represent New Zealand at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and before this, take them to key qualifying events on a national and international level (including flights, hotels, food, cars, uniforms etc)
Further development of systems and structures to help grow community level Para sport across New Zealand, with a particular focus on programmes such as talent identification and Para athlete development, which support the Paralympians of tomorrow
Delivery of community outreach programmes, such as Para Open Day events across the country and our education programmes, which are designed to positively influence perceptions of disabled people
