I’d bring a positive, athlete-focused voice to the council. I work well in a team and am eager to collaborate with others to find ideas and solutions that will support the wider Para community. I’m not afraid to ask questions or challenge things respectfully if it helps move us forward. I’m passionate about disability sport and the opportunities it creates for athletes. I’m keen for the chance to both contribute and learn more in this space. I believe I can offer a different lens and perspective while listening to others and working together to make good decisions for athletes and the future of Para sport.

Dear Fellow Athletes,

I am seeking your support to continue serving on the PNZ Athletes’ Council because I am passionate about the Paralympic Movement and the power of athlete voice.

Para sport has changed my life, giving me confidence, independence, and the freedom to embrace who I am. The values of Courage, Determination, Inspiration, and Equality guide how we train, compete, and support one another.

Since serving on the Council, I have seen how important strong athlete representation and open communication with leadership are for all athletes. I am committed to supporting PNZ to keep Para Sport moving forward while promoting inclusion, fairness, and opportunity across all sports.

It would be an honour to continue representing you, and I would greatly appreciate your vote.

I bring over twenty years of lived disability advocacy as both a parent of a daughter with a disability and as a current international para-athlete. I also bring four years of national panel experience with the Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Awards, including two years as a Head Category Judge representing collective panel perspectives to the executive decision-making group.

The Athletes’ Council represents both Paralympic athletes and para athletes more broadly. Currently, all members are current or former Paralympians. As the first New Zealand international para-climber, I have spent eight years competing outside the Paralympic system, advocating for pathway development within an emerging, volunteer-led federation.

With paraclimbing entering LA2028, I now sit at a point of transition into the wider Paralympic system. I believe emerging and transitioning sports need strong representation, collaboration across codes, and mentoring structures that support smaller federations development and growth.

High performance and sustained athlete wellbeing is best positioned to grow when potential and commitment are supported across the full para sport landscape.

I am seeking re-election to the PNZ Athletes’ Council because I remain deeply committed to ensuring the athlete voice stays at the heart of decision‑making. As current Chair and as the athlete representative on the PNZ Board I’ve seen how essential it is to maintain a strong, clear link between athletes and those shaping strategy and policy. This connection ensures genuine athlete perspectives are not only heard but truly influence decisions at the highest level.

I want to continue strengthening two‑way communication across the system and providing honest, constructive advice on high‑performance culture, integrity, and athlete safety. Athlete wellbeing remains one of my top priorities, ensuring athletes are supported both physically and mentally while meeting the demands of performance.

Now retired from sport, I have the time and energy to fully dedicate myself to this role, continuing to promote fairness, integrity, and a supportive high‑performance environment. I’m motivated to keep pushing this work forward.

Sport has given me confidence, purpose, and an incredible community, and I want to ensure others have the same opportunities. As someone who has lived with cerebral palsy my entire life, and represented New Zealand on the international stage, I understand the unique challenges that disabled athletes face while pursuing opportunities.

I’m passionate about strengthening the connection between athletes and Paralympics New Zealand, advocating for greater inclusion and helping the next generation of disabled athletes navigate the pathways to their goals.

I’m putting my name forward for the PNZ Athletes’ Council because I strongly believe that by placing athlete voices at the centre of the Paralympic movement, we can amplify the positive impact it has on individuals and the community as a whole!

If elected, I will dedicate my energy towards supporting your journey, so you can continue to chase your dreams. I would be honoured to have your support.

Over the past 4 years, it has been a privilege to serve as an Athlete Representative for the Paralympics New Zealand Athlete council. During this time, I have worked to ensure the athlete voice is represented in decision making, advocating for athletes so that our perspectives are heard, respected and considered in the decisions that shape our environment.

This role has given me strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities that impact us and our sporting journey. I believe that the athlete voice is essential to building a strong, inclusive and high-performing Paralympic Community.

I am seeking your support so I can continue this work in advocating for the athletes to progress the Paralympic Movement in New Zealand.

Please consider voting for me as we move towards the 2028 LA Paralympic Games and into the 2032 Brisbane Paralympic Games.

I believe PNZ and New Zealand in general has supported me, and I’d like to give back to athletes and others. The best thing I have to give is time and my experience.  I believe I’m a good and fair communicator and share myself well with others.

My life wouldn’t be what it is today without sport. I was in a bad, dark place, over many years, with the help of many people around me, sport and fitness has improved my life ten-fold.

I believe the Athletes’ Council can support athletes, PNZ and the Paralympic Movement through finding what matters to the athletes, and can improve the athletes’ lives giving them the ability to better focus on their sports. The background of political matter, politics of sport etc should not interfere with the athletes ability to win in the field.
