New Zealand at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

24 Kiwi Paralympians, including 14 returning Paralympians and 10 debutants in the New Zealand Paralympic Team competed across 11 days of exhilarating competition.

  • The New Zealand Paralympic Team included 11 female and 13 male Paralympians
  • 8 Para sports were competed in – Para athletics (6 athletes), Para badminton (1 athlete), Para canoe (2 athletes), Para cycling (4 athletes), Para equestrian (1 athlete), Para swimming (6 athletes) Para table tennis (1 athlete), Shooting Para sport (3 athletes)
  • 41 staff supported the New Zealand Paralympic Team
  • 47 separate events were contested in these 8 Para sports by Kiwi Paralympians: Para athletics (12 events), Para badminton (1 events), Para canoe (3 events), Para cycling (9 events), Para equestrian (1 events), Para swimming (13 events) Para table tennis (1 events), Shooting Para sport (7 events)
  • The New Zealand Paralympic Team set:

  • Kiwi Paralympians competed in 64% of the finals out of the 47 events contested
  • 71% of our Kiwi Paralympians had a top 8 finish in at least one event
  • Anna Grimaldi became only the third New Zealand woman in Paralympic history to win a gold medal at three consecutive Paralympics, joining Dame Sophie Pascoe and Eve Rimmer who have won gold at four consecutive Paralympics.
  • 9 medals won by New Zealand – 1 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze
  •  7 individual Paralympians won medals
  • 9th in the world for medals won per capita

* By IPC convention, the medal standings are ordered by the number of gold medals which the Para athletes from a nation have won. The number of silver medals is taken into consideration next and then the number of bronze medals. If NPCs are still tied, equal ranking is given and they are listed alphabetically by IPC country code. The same convention is used by the IOC.
