Athletes dig deep on day 4 of Global Games

Another sweltering day in Vichy France for our swimmers, temperatures hitting 39 degrees and the pool water over 31 degrees.
Jack Bugler dug deep to finish his 1500 metre Freestyle event just over 3 seconds shy of his NZ record. Joseph Blake made a massive improvement in his 200 metre Individual Medley time, taking more than 15 seconds off his entry time. Bailey Conlon achieved 13th place in the 50m Breaststroke in a highly competitive II1 class.
Rylee Sayer, our youngest team member at 14 years old, swam with determination, finishing 14th in her 100m Freestyle event. Again, a highly competitive II1 Women’s class.
Both Melissa Donoghue in II2 and Genevieve Watson in II3 made finals in their respective Women’s 100m Freestyle events.
Luka Willems was welcomed to the GB relay team for the Men’s II2 4x50m relay.
In athletics, Joshua Lush competed in his first event – long jump heats – earning his place in the final with a 5th place finish.
