Paralympian #158 Adam Hall MNZM rounds out the NZ Paralympic Team challenge at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, hunting a podium spot in his favoured Men’s Slalom Standing later today (Sunday 15 March).

The 38-year-old Kiwi, who finished 22nd in the Men’s Giant Slalom Standing last Friday (13 March), is a proven slalom specialist, winning gold medals in the discipline at the Vancouver 2010 and PyeongChang 2018 Games and bronze in Beijing 2022.

Competing at a record-extending sixth Paralympic Winter Games for a Kiwi, Hall has produced podium-winning performances on the World Cup circuit during the 2025–26 season and will once again be looking to mount a significant threat. He is also expected to relish the conditions on the slopes of the Olimpia delle Tofane, where snowfall is forecast.

The opposition will be strong, led by defending champion Arthur Bauchet of France, who has already secured double gold in the Men’s Alpine Combined Standing and Men’s Giant Slalom Standing at Milano Cortina 2026. Swiss Para alpine skier Robin Cuche is also entered and, like Bauchet, has clinched two gold medals at Milano Cortina in the Men’s Downhill Standing and Men’s Super-G Standing, as well as silver in the Men’s Giant Slalom Standing.

Former Paralympic Men’s Slalom Standing champion Aleksei Bugaev, who has notched double bronze at these Games, will be another threat, while home favourite Federico Pelizzari of Italy — fourth in the Men’s Giant Slalom Standing — will also be one to watch.

Hall is a legend of Paralympic sport. Since making his Paralympic debut as an 18-year-old at the Torino 2006 Games, he has snared five Paralympic medals and earned a reputation as an outstanding ambassador for both Paralympic sport and Para alpine skiing in Aotearoa New Zealand.

NZ Paralympic Team Chef de Mission for Milano Cortina 2026 Jane Stevens said: “It is fitting that we finish the Milano Cortina 2026 with all eyes on Adam in the Men’s Slalom Standing. He faces an extremely competitive field, and we are anticipating an exciting race for what we expect will provide a fantastic finale to the Games.”

Watch Hall live on TVNZ Duke on Sunday (15 March). His first run in the Men’s Adam Slalom Standing follows the Men’s VI Standing, which starts at 9pm (NZT) His second run begins following the Men’s VI Standing event, which starts at 1am (Monday 16 March).

Paralympian #188 Corey Peters MNZM has been announced as the Closing Ceremony flagbearer for the NZ Paralympic Team. Peters, a four-time Paralympic medallist, has performed with pride at Milano Cortina 2026 claiming three top six finishes across his three events at his fourth Paralympic Winter Games.
