Nicole Murray withdraws from C4-5 Road Race

Para cyclist Nicole Murray competes in the velodrome in the Women's C4-5 500m Time Trial.

Paralympian #222 Nicole Murray has opted to withdraw from her final Para cycling race at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games due to illness.

The Paralympic bronze medallist had been due to start in the C4-5 Road Race on Friday evening, New Zealand time.

New Zealand Paralympic Team Chef de Mission, Raylene Bates said: “Nicole has been supported by the medical staff and has made the decision in conjunction with them to withdraw.”

“The team is very proud of Nicole’s bronze medal in the C5 3000m Individual Pursuit.”

Besides her bronze medal in the Women’s C5 Individual Pursuit, Murray set a national record in the qualification for the Women’s C4-5 500m Time Trial and placed fifth in the final. She also finished fourth in the Women’s C5 Individual Time Trial on the road.
