Opportunity to sail at Waitangi with a Paralympian

Waitangi Sailing Opportunity with Paralympian

Parafed Northland is offering their members an opportunity to get out on the water and learn to sail with the Bay of Islands Yacht Club.

Sailing will take place every Thursday from 3.30-6.30pm – and Sunday from 10am-1pm starting on February 23.

As part of learning to sail you will also be exposed to Kerikeri Paralympian Chris Sharp, who will be coaching those involved, while also completing the ‘Learn to Sail’ module from Yachting NZ.

The cost for the sailing experience will be $20, which is to directly cover the cost of the learn to sail module booklet.

This experience is accessible to anyone with a physical disability.

Be prepared to get a little wet though! But, don’t worry, there is an accessible toilet and warm shower at the Bay of Islands Yacht Club which will be available.

To register or if you have any questions please email [email protected] or [email protected].

– The Bay of Islands Yacht Club is located next to the Copthorne Hotel in Waitangi.
