Games wide open
France’s first summer Paralympic Games offers spectators a visual treat: the Eiffel Tower Stadium will be the setting for Blind football, the Château de Versailles for Para equestrian events, Les Invalides for Para archery, etc. – grand settings for the greatest feats.
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will feature 22 sports and 4,400 exceptional athletes from over 180 countries. The event will also have a cumulative audience of 4.1 billion viewers watching on TV. The Opening Ceremony will be held outside a stadium for the first time in the history of the Games, in the magical setting of the Place de la Concorde and at the bottom of the Champs-Elysées.
With current Kiwi world champions in Para cycling, Para athletics and Para swimming, and competitors vying for slots in a range of other sports too, New Zealanders will be excited to watch the Paris 2024 Paralympics – whether in person or on TV.
