Para alpine skier Sue Gardiner made her Paralympic debut at the Nagano 1998 Paralympic Winter Games, Sue competed in the visually impaired class and narrowly missed a medal with a trio of fourth place finishes in the Women’s Downhill B1-3, Women’s Super-G B2 and Women’s Giant Slalom B2.
Her husband Dave was her guide on the slopes. The New Zealand Paralympic Team brought home a combined six medals from Nagano 1998. Sue works today as a vision rehabilitation specialist.
