Damian Wiseman, Para Cycling Performance Coach & Lead Performance Scientist
Damian has been working in high performance sport for more than eight years, completing his PhD research as part of his role with the Cycling New Zealand track programme. He has been coaching athletes across a variety of sports since the late 90s, with an emphasis in all disciplines of cycling in particular track sprint cycling. Damian has contributed to multiple World Championship (Junior and Senior), Commonwealth and Olympic medal winning performances.
Damian is the Para cycling hub coach for the Waikato region. He works directly with athletes on both the track and road and supports the Para cycling head coach. An important part of his role is also to deliver performance science support to the Para cycling programme. Damien’s supports the ‘Medal Winning Performances’ pillar within the PNZ Strategic Plan 2021 – 2032.
