Harvey Norman Para Sport Champions
The Harvey Norman Para Sport Champions programme gives community groups the opportunity to hear firsthand from New Zealand’s leading Para athletes and Paralympians. Through engaging and inspiring visits, our Champions share their personal journeys from discovering Para sport and overcoming challenges to competing at the highest level on the world stage.
What are Para Sport Champions?
Para Sport Champions are Paralympians or Para athletes who bring the Paralympic values of determination, courage, inspiration, and equality to life through their actions and achievements. Their stories highlight these values, and we hope they encourage you to explore how they can be applied in our own lives.
Every story is different, but they all speak to the values that define great athletes and great people: perseverance, resilience, courage, determination and self-belief. Our Champions talk openly about what it takes to become a Paralympian, the realities of pursuing sport with a disability, and how setbacks can become opportunities for growth.
Whether you’re looking to inspire students, motivate a team, spark conversations about inclusion, or encourage people to chase their goals, a visit from a Harvey Norman Para Sport Champions creates a memorable experience that leaves a lasting impact.
The perfect groups to benefit from a visit include but are not limited to:
-
Sports clubs.
-
Schools and kura.
- Faith-based and cultural groups.
- Youth clubs and community organisations.
- RSA, Rotary, Lions, BUPA retirement homes.
-
