WHAT IS OUR COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIP PHILOSOPHY?

Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) is passionate about partnering with great people and great brands.

Over the past few years, we have built a strong family of creative, passionate and ambitious commercial partners who share our values and with whom we have great fun! We know that for these relationships to be successful, we must work together in true partnership and understand each other’s business challenges and objectives.

WHY DO WE WORK WITH COMMERCIAL PARTNERS?

PNZ is very grateful to receive government funding through High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) to pay for the training of our elite Para athletes and approx. 1/3rd of our Paralympic Games campaign costs.

However, everything else we do, including covering the remaining Paralympic Games costs and delivering the significant community initiatives in the Paralympics New Zealand Strategic Plan 2021 – 2032, is supported by government funding, grants from trusts and foundations, donations, commercial partnerships and bequests.

WHAT DO WE OFFER TO COMMERCIAL PARTNERS?

The PNZ Spirit of Gold® initiative is an award-winning and successful commercial and marketing programme. The term was carefully chosen to communicate PNZ’s dual purpose; “spirit“ is used to represent ‘community engagement’ and “gold“ to represent ‘high performance success’

The programme is the backbone of a strong communications and events strategy and the foundation for all PNZ’s commercial partnerships, providing a transparent structure of rights and benefits which are tailored to meet an individual partner’s objectives.

Partnership with PNZ offers the opportunity to engage with our exceptional Paralympians, extraordinary people who demonstrate passion and commitment, for whom anything is possible and whose stories never fail to inspire.

The Paralympic movement in New Zealand and globally is growing exponentially, as awareness of the value of diversity and inclusion, and of the ability of Para sport to transform lives, becomes increasingly compelling.

PNZ enjoys a strong relationship with our broadcast partners TVNZ and Attitude Pictures, resulting in the recent successful free to air broadcast of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, which reached 1.8m Kiwis.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games is fast approaching. We expect audiences to further increase as coverage of the Paralympic Games continues to grow, diversify and engage audiences.
