In just under two weeks’ time, from 5-7 August, the Adaptive Snowsports Festival is set to be held once again at the iconic Remarkables Ski Area, located just out of Queenstown.

Whether you are looking to try adaptive skiing or adaptive snowboarding for the first time or you’re an experienced Para skier or Para snowboarder with dreams of competing at the Paralympic Games, the Adaptive Snowsports Festival can cater to your needs.

The essence of the Adaptive Snowsports Festival is to create an environment of inclusivity up the mountain and offer opportunities, break down barriers and inspire people of all ages to get on the snow.

Perfect for first timers

The amazing adaptive instructors at The Remarkables make it possible for participants to experience adaptive skiing and adaptive snowboarding for the very first time in a safe and supportive environment alongside friends and family. The Halberg Foundation also supports the event, making it a truly special festival.

Progression and talent development

Keen skiers or snowboarders interested in learning about the Snow Sports NZ High Performance Development Pathway can take part in training camps with other development athletes. They will also learn from the opportunity to ski alongside Winter Paralympic medallists.

Snow Sports NZ also uses the Adaptive Snowsports Festival as an avenue to talent ID the next generation of Para athletes.

If you have been thinking about giving skiing and snowboarding a go or want to further your skills recreationally or as a Para athlete, the Adaptive Snow Sports Festival is the perfect opportunity.
