Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) today announced a new partnership with mophie, a leading brand in portable power and innovator of intelligent charging solutions for mobile devices. As part of the collaboration, mophie will supply all members of the NZ Paralympic Team with branded portable power solutions to ensure they stay charged and connected to friends and family throughout the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, running from August 26 to September 8.

While this partnership begins with the Paris 2024 Paralympics the association will also be part of a longer-term vision. PNZ and mophie will join forces on an ongoing co-branded retail range that supports future fundraising efforts for events like the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games and subsequent Paralympic Games. In addition, mophie has agreed to supporting PNZ with a revenue share from all mophie products sold in New Zealand. The goal is to provide continuous support and empowerment for Para athletes, ensuring they have the resources they need to succeed.

Ross McInnes, GM of mophie ANZ, says “This is a partnership that not only makes sense for mophie, but it’s one that has moved me personally. Our partnership with PNZ and the NZ Paralympic Team aligns with our mission to empower individuals through innovative power solutions. We are honoured to support these incredible Para athletes and their support teams, providing them with the tools they need to stay connected and focused on their performance. Building in the longer-term association to help fund the organisation just makes sense for us.”

Greg Warnecke, PNZ Chief Executive Officer commented: “Paralympics New Zealand is thrilled to partner with mophie and values their support of the NZ Paralympic Team heading to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Keeping the Team connected and powered on the ground in Paris and at home in New Zealand with family and friends is a priority and mophie will enable Para athletes, their support staff and our media team to reliably communicate where and when they need to. mophie’s “Stay Powerful” messaging certainly resonates with our Paralympians as high-performance athletes, and we are looking forward to celebrating and sharing their sporting achievements aided by the great mophie technology.”

As part of the messaging and communication for this partnership, mophie is creating a short film featuring New Zealand Para cyclist, Paralympian #222 Nicole Murray. This film will showcase a day in Nicole’s life as she prepares for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, providing an intimate look at her dedication and journey. This will be episode 3 in the ongoing series of “Stay Powerful Stories” found on mophie’s YouTube channel.
