Run Jump Throw launches

We are excited to share that we are partnering with Athletics New Zealand and a number of regional organisations to deliver an inclusive Run Jump Throw programme launching in Gisborne, Northland and Southland in October.

PNZ’s Marianne Loh interviews Raylene Bates about why Athletics New Zealand chose to run an Adaptive Run Jump Throw programme.

What is the programme about?

Run Jump Throw is an 8-week programme offered for disabled people of all ages and abilities, and uses modified equipment and games to help maximise participation and enjoyment. The programme uses a bottom-up approach to teach skills and adaptations needed for athletics movements – so participants can learn the necessary fundamental skills and basic movement patterns in an inclusive, positive and supportive environment, and continue to refine their skills through our athletics club following the programme. Participants will learn, grow their confidence and be challenged at their own pace.
