Mike Todd #226

Mike was born with CMT which is a neurological condition that effects all four limbs. He was introduced to Wheelchair rugby in 2008, representing Canterbury ever since and he made his Wheel Black debut vs Australia in 2015.

Mike has been heavily involved with the administration of Canterbury Wheelchair Rugby, previously serving as President.

By day, Mike’s role as a staff trainer crosses over nicely from his rugby experience allowing him real world examples to get the best out of the sessions with his trainees.

Mike was a member of the Wheel Blacks squad that competed at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games – the team’s first Paralympics since 2008. The team placed 8th overall and gained valuable experience to build on for their journey to Paris 2024.

Through Wheelchair rugby, Mike has been able to travel the world, highlights being Japan & Korea. He often has several family members attending the numerous events around the world as he represents his country.

Mike was named a Harvey Norman Para Sport Champion in 2024.
