Dan Buckingham PLY MNZM #142

Dan Buckingham, New Zealand Paralympian

Dan was a member of the gold medal winning Wheel Blacks at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games. He went onto captain the team in Beijing 2008. Dan was also one of the presenters and producers that shared the success of the Rio 2016 Paralympics with all Kiwis as part of the TVNZ and Attitude broadcast.

Dan is now Chief Executive of Able, the media accessibility company.

He officially received his ‘numbered’ Paralympic pin as part of The Celebration Project in Auckland in May 2019.

Dan was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to people with a disability and services to Wheelchair rugby in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours.
