Paralympian Rob Creagh

Rob was part of the first ever Wheelchair rugby team – the Wheel Blacks – making their debut at the Atlanta 1996 Paralympic Games when it was a demonstration event. Rob played alongside teammates such as Paralympian #111 Sholto TaylorParalympian #97 Paul Leefe and Paralympian #112 Geremy Tinker. The team made an impressive debut winning the bronze medal match, paving the way for the future Wheel Blacks.  

In Atlanta 1996, the New Zealand Paralympic Team of 34 proud Kiwis won collectively 19 medals. Sir Paul Holmes, former Paralympics New Zealand Patron,?famously hosted ‘Triumph of Human Spirit’: a documentary about the New Zealand Paralympic Team at Atlanta 1996. It was a ground breaking success.

Rob officially received his ‘numbered’ Paralympic pin as part of The Celebration Project in Auckland in February 2021.
