Eve Rimmer competed in the Tel Aviv 1968 Paralympic Games as the first and only woman of this Paralympic Games Team. She won New Zealand’s first ever medals. Eve then went on to represent New Zealand at four consecutive Paralympic Games. Her record of 14 medals stood from 1980 and was only broken 36 years later at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games by Sophie Pascoe.

Eve officially received her ‘numbered’ Paralympic pin as part of The Celebration Project in Auckland in May 2019. She was represented by her daughters Wendy and Julie.
