Jacque Courtier #89
Born in 1966, Jacque Courtier made her debut at the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games. She competed in Wheelchair tennis in the Women’s Singles and Doubles event with her partner Paralympian #110 Marilyn Stratford.
In 2004, Jacque returned to the Paralympic Games competing again in the Women’s Singles and Women’s Doubles with a new partner this time, Paralympian #150 Tiffiney Perry.
Although the pair didn’t place at Atlanta 1996, they achieved great success at domestic competitions in the following years. The duo won the New Zealand Open in 2004, 2006, 2007, the Waikato Championships in 2006, and the 2006 Auckland Championships.
Jacque is still competing today, but switched to the Para sport of Waka ama. She was part of the New Zealand Team who went to World Sprints in Tahiti 2018.
Jacque received her ‘numbered’ Paralympic pin as part of The Celebration Project in Wellington in November 2020.
