Colin was involved in Shooting Para sport for 23 years, from 1982 through to 2004 and has spina bifida. He competed in five Paralympic Games in 1984, 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004. Colin placed 7th at both the Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games in the 10 metre air rifle. He was a silver medallist at the 2002 World Shooting Para Sport Championships.
Following his retirement from target shooting, Colin was involved in running the ParaFed Canterbury Shooting Club for a number of years. In 2007, Colin was presented with a PNZ Order of Merit for his outstanding contribution to the disability sport sector. The same year, Colin also received the New Zealand Order of Merit. Today, Colin still lives in Christchurch and works as an Electronics Assembler.
