At the age of 21, Chris Adamson had his right leg amputated after a motorcycle accident.
He became a very talented Para alpine skier and competed at 2 consecutive Paralympic Winter Games: Albertville 1992 and Lillehammer 1994. Chris competed in the LW2 class, and raced in the Slalom, Giant Slalom, Downhill and Super G.
Chris lives in Mount Maunganui and is also passionate about surfing. Chris has been riding the waves since he was 11. His accident did not prevent him from getting back on the water. Chris surfs with a special prosthetic leg that fits into his surfing board.
