Joanne Duffy #86

Visually impaired Para alpine skier, Joanne Duffy made her Paralympic debut as the 1994 Paralympic Winter Games in Lillehammer as the only female member of the New Zealand team.

The New Zealand team was very successful, bringing home a total of 6 medals from Lillehammer 1994. Joanne made an impressive performance with her guide James Ross in the Women’s Downhill B1-2, finishing a whole 9.29 seconds ahead of the runners-up and winning a Gold medal  

The pair also won Bronze in the Women’s Super-G B1-2.  

Joanne and Ross also competed in the Women’s Slalom B1-2 and the Women’s Giant Slalom B1-2 where they placed 5th.
